A new OTT platform named ‘Ayna’ is launching in Bangladesh, and along with it comes the country’s first web series based on illegal kidney trafficking, titled ‘Baghe Khay’. The series has been directed by renowned Bangladeshi filmmaker Noman Robin. The trailer for ‘Baghe Khay’ has already been released, and it has sparked widespread discussions.
Regarding the series, director Noman Robin said, “I always try to work on topics that other filmmakers often overlook. Illegal kidney trade has been happening in our country through syndicates for a long time. The story of ‘Baghe Khay’ revolves around one such syndicate.”
The series features actors such as Runa Khan, Rashed Mamun Apu, Kazi Nowshaba Ahmed, Shahariar Shuvo, Iqbal Hossain, and Riazul Riju, among others.
Director Noman Robin further stated that the ‘Ayna’ platform is closely observing audience reactions. The series will be released based on viewer interest and demand. Initially, the first phase consists of six episodes, but if the audience appreciates it, the story will expand, leading to new seasons.
Actor Rashed Mamun Apu shared his experience, saying, “My acting journey began with a drama directed by Noman Robin. We have worked together on several projects. However, for a long time, he wasn’t creating content, and I didn’t get to collaborate with him. Working on this new series rekindled our past partnership. As for the experience, I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
Notably, ‘Baghe Khay’ is set to be released in November as the first original series on the newly launched OTT platform, ‘Ayna’.
